Path of Exile 2 Character Classes Guide

In Path of Exile 2, there are twelve base classes, with two classes representing each Attribute combination (Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Strength/Dexterity, etc).

The Passive Tree in Path of Exile will have 6 starting locations, with each Attribute combination having their own starting position on the tree. For example, Marauder and Warrior will start at the same location on the tree.

The Scion was the 7th class introduced in PoE 1 that started at the center of the tree. However, the Scion will not be playable in PoE 2.

Here is a list of the classes in PoE 2 and their signature weapon/ability:

- Strength:

- Marauder – Axes

- Warrior – Maces

- Dexterity:

- Ranger – Bows

- Huntress – Spears

- Intelligence:

- Witch – Minions/Occult Spells

- Sorceress – Elemental Spells

- Strength/Dexterity:

- Duelist – Swords

- Mercenary – Crossbows

- Intelligence/Dexterity:

- Shadow – Daggers and Traps

- Monk – Unarmed and Quarterstaves

- Strength/Intelligence:

- Templar – Flails

- Druid – Shapeshift Spells

It's important to note that in PoE, characters are not limited by their classes. You can, for example, be a Marauder that uses fireballs or a Duelist that fires arrows.

If you want to shapeshift, playing a Druid would be a suitable choice. However, if you want a more tanky character, you might decide to play as a Marauder to start closer to the Strength portion of the tree. No matter which class you choose, you will need poe 2 currency to enhance it.

These classes provide a strong foundation for builds, making it easier to progress. However, if you prefer a more unconventional approach, you have the freedom to do so. Just keep in mind that picking an "off class" will require a deeper understanding of game mechanics to fully take advantage of.

Each class has three Ascendancy Classes available to them, making a total of 36 Ascendancy Classes. These Ascendancy Classes are essentially specializations for your character, offering powerful bonuses that often define your build. The specific details on how to Ascend have yet to be revealed, but it will occur during the campaign in Acts 2, 3, and 4.
